Term insurance does not have cash value and you cannot cash it in. If the insured dies during the term, the death benefit will be paid to the beneficiary. Term insurance is often the most inexpensive way to purchase a substantial death benefit on a coverage amount per premium dollar basis.

Example:
You may purchase a $500,000 20 year term. Your annual premium remains unchanged for 20 years and the $500,000 death benefit doesn't increase or decrease for the 20 year term.
