A Message from the Chairman

Thank you for your loyalty to American National Bank and Peoples National Bank. We value our relationship with you. Through all of the challenges of the past year we are proud to say that we remain strong, profitable, and secure. Not all banks can lay claim to this achievement and our seasoned management team deserves great credit.

In our plans for the future and to accomplish new goals, I am very pleased to tell you the American National Bank and Peoples National Bank Board of Directors has named Steve Ritzman as President and CEO upon my recommendation. Steve, who has been president of the bank for the past three years, will assume greater responsibility for the day-to-day operations and management. I will remain actively engaged as Executive Chairman of the Board. This natural progression in senior leadership allows us focus more attention on our customers, strategic initiatives, and opportunities for expansion.

While this appointment will not change your relationship with the bank it will grow our commitment to you. Steve and I have an outstanding, seasoned and respected team who continue to provide for your financial needs.

American National is one of the largest locally-owned financial institutions in Nebraska. It is our capital strength and our strong local and national rankings on which we plan to build in 2010 and beyond with acquisitions, organic growth, and new business lines.

Over the past three years as President, Steve has earned the respect of employees and customers alike. He has 31 years of banking experience and prior to being named President of American National, was the Chief Credit Officer for another locally-owned Nebraska bank. Steve is actively involved on three community boards.

These organizational changes lead the way for American National Bank and Peoples National Bank to find its highest potential, add value for you and strengthen our communities.

Sincerely,

John Kotouc
Executive Chairman of the Board
